Household Appliances Factory in Saran

Project Description: The project in Saran, Karaganda Region, is focused on establishing a modern manufacturing facility for household appliances under the Silk Road Electronics brand. The plant began operations in August 2024 and already produces a range of products, including water heaters, kitchen stoves, and vacuum cleaners. In April 2025, Samsung Electronics and Silk Road Electronics signed a strategic partnership to localize the production of Samsung televisions at the facility. The new line will include both current and premium models, expanding access to high-quality electronics in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The first Samsung TVs are expected to reach the market in the second half of 2025.

The plant aims to achieve an annual capacity of 1.1 million units of home applinaces by 2027. The project is supported by the Industrial Development Fund and benefits from being located in the Saryarka Special Economic Zone. It contributes to import substitution, job creation, and the transfer of advanced manufacturing technologies to Kazakhstan.The factory produces products like electric water heaters, vacuum cleaners, kitchen stoves, mini-ovens, kitchen hoods, semi-automatic washing machines, and televisions. The facility aims to meet domestic demand and increase export capacity to other CIS countries.

Current Status:

Production at the plant began in August 2024. As of now, approximately 97,000 units have been produced. The plant is on track to reach an annual production capacity of 1.1 million units by 2027.
