Project Name: ABS-Munay Oil Refinery Plant (New Project)

Project Description:In July 2024, it was announced that the Kazakhstani company ABS-Munay and West Hydrocarbons Commercial Investment LLC from the UAE planned to construct a new oil refinery in Kazakhstan. The planned refinery will be located in the village of Algabas, Terekti district, West Kazakhstan region. The facility is designed to process 1 million tons of crude oil annually and produce the following refined products:

  • Gasoline (K5): 230,400 tons per year

  • Diesel fuel (K5): 265,800 tons per year

  • Bitumen: 55,650 tons per year

  • Kerosene: 31,575 tons per year

  • Liquefied petroleum gases: 18,750 tons per year

  • Heating oil: 4,050 tons per year

The project aims to strengthen Kazakhstan’s refining capacity, meeting domestic demand and exporting refined petroleum products. The facility is expected to create 200 permanent jobs upon completion.

Current Status: Feasibility study phase (assessing oil sources, financing, and land allocation)
