Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Plant

Description:

This initiative involves the development of Kazakhstan's first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production facility. The project aims to utilize LanzaJet's proprietary alcohol-to-jet (ATJ) technology to convert locally sourced bioethanol into low-carbon jet fuel. The collaboration between LanzaJet, KazMunayGas-Aero LLP, and KazFoodProducts LLP seeks to advance Kazakhstan's commitment to carbon neutrality and position the country as a regional hub for sustainable aviation fuel.

Current Status:

As of April 2025, the project is in the feasibility study phase. The pre-feasibility study was completed in 2024, and the comprehensive feasibility study is expected to be finalized by the end of 2025.

End Date: Estimated by end of 2025 (Feasibility study completion)

Approximately 33 million USD (15 billion KZT)
